Annual GDP growth was 3.3%, compared to a 2.3% weighted average for the rest of the G7. The United States is the largest importer of goods and second-largest exporter. The United States has been a leader in technological innovation since the late 19th century and scientific research since the mid-20th century. USA is world's second-largest automobile market.
